Leaf Cleanup and Removal in Marietta, GA
Marietta has the oldest tree canopy in Cobb County, and the neighborhoods around the Square are full of mature oaks and hardwoods that were there long before the houses. It is what makes those streets worth living on, and it is why leaf season here is a bigger job than it is one town over.

Marietta is one of the few places around here with city leaf pickup
Worth knowing, because it changes the math and most people do not realize how the rules differ inside and outside the city line.
Unincorporated Cobb County has no county leaf pickup at all. Waste is contracted privately and vegetative waste goes to a drop-off. If you live outside the city limits and you bag your leaves, you are paying someone to take them or driving them yourself.
Inside Marietta city limits you do get curbside collection, on Wednesdays, and it is genuinely useful. But it comes with conditions that catch people out on a wooded lot:
• Leaves must be bagged. Loose piles at the curb are not collected.
• Bags cannot exceed 32 gallons.
• Paper bags are recommended — Georgia state law prohibits plastic in compost, so plastic sacks are a problem rather than a shortcut.
• Branches and limbs must be under six feet long, four inches thick and 100 pounds.
• Past 48 bags — roughly 200 cubic feet — an excess fee of $100 per load applies.
Forty-eight bags is the number that matters. On a small lot with a couple of maples you will never see it. Under mature oaks on a half acre near the Square, a single thorough cleanup passes it comfortably, and you have now paid for bags, spent two weekends, and still owe $100 a load.
What it costs
Metro Atlanta market rates for 2026, so you can judge any quote you are given:
• Quarter acre — $180 to $255
• Half acre — $205 to $505
• Three-quarter acre — $305 to $755
• Full acre — $405 to $1,010
The metro average is around $357, most jobs falling between $170 and $554. Older Marietta lots tend to sit at the upper end of their size bracket, because canopy density matters more than lot size does.
Our cleanups carry a $150 minimum, and past that we quote after we look. We will not price a mature-canopy lot over the phone.
Oaks are the reason one cleanup is rarely enough
Maples, poplars and sweetgums are finished by late November. Oaks are not — on plenty of Marietta lots they are still dropping into January, which is why a beautifully cleared yard in early December looks untouched again by New Year.
On an oak-heavy property the honest answer is two passes: one around Thanksgiving, one in early January once they have finished. On a maple-and-poplar lot, one cleanup in early December does it.
We will tell you which one your property is at the estimate rather than after you have paid for the first visit.
If yours is a two-pass property, we book both at the estimate — one around Thanksgiving, one in early January — and both figures are written down before the first visit. The second is the smaller job of the two and it is priced that way. If a mild fall means the January pass is not needed, we take it off.

• Beds and around shrubs cleared by hand, so the mulch and pine straw stay where they are
• Leaves pulled off the foundation line, out from under decks and porches, and away from A/C units
• Drive, walks and patio blown clean
• Leaves either mulched back into the lawn where the cover is light enough, or loaded and hauled off — disposal included in the number either way
• Gutters cleared and downspouts flushed if you add it — and under this much canopy they will need it
Nothing is bagged and left at your curb, so none of the city’s bag limits or excess-load fees come into it.
Two ways to finish it. Mulching passes a mower over the leaves and returns them to the lawn as fine matter, which feeds the grass and costs less because nothing leaves the property. That only works while the layer is thin. Once the cover is deep it smothers the grass instead, so it all goes on the trailer. We look at what is actually down and tell you which one your yard is.

Can you work around the historic district rules?
Leaf removal does not touch anything the historic guidelines cover — we are not altering structures, hardscape or trees. If a job ever did, we would tell you to check with the city before we quoted it.
Will you take the branches too?
Yes, and without the city’s six-foot, four-inch, 100-pound limits. Storm debris and larger limbs are priced separately from the leaf work so you can see both numbers.
Can you blow them into the woods behind the house?
If the woods are yours, yes, and it is cheaper. If they belong to a neighbor or an HOA, no.
Do you do the gutters at the same visit?
