Where you land in a range comes down to how much is actually up there, how easy the roof is to work, and how steep the ground around the house is. A house we did last spring sits at the bottom of its range. One that has not been touched in three years sits at the top.

A word about the $99 quotes
You will see them. On a Kennesaw home with mature pines, a $99 job usually means a leaf blower run along the top of the gutter, no downspout flush, and the debris left in your beds.
The clog that actually causes damage sits in the downspout elbow, and a blower does not move it. Ask anyone quoting you that price two questions: do you flush the downspouts, and where does the debris go?
How often gutters need cleaning in Georgia
Twice a year is the floor. If you have pines over the roof — and in Kennesaw plenty of us do — plan on three or four times.
Georgia is harder on gutters than most of the country because we do not get one clean leaf drop and then a rest. Pollen loads them in spring, storms fill them in summer, oak and sweetgum come down in late fall, and pine needles fall the entire year. Pine needles are the real problem: they knit together into a mat that holds water and just sits there.
What happens if you leave it
Water that cannot get down the downspout goes over the edge and down the wall. Fascia and soffit rot comes first, then roof edge damage, then the expensive one — water pooling against the foundation. Roof repairs from overflow commonly run $500–$3,000. Foundation work runs $3,000–$10,000 and up.
The clean that matters most is the one after the oaks finish
Almost every gutter clean around here gets booked reactively — water is coming over the edge, or somebody happened to look up. The pass that does the most good is the one least likely to get booked at all: early January, once the oaks have finally stopped. Gutters cleared in October under oak and pine are full again by New Year, and they spend the wettest, coldest weeks of the year sitting full of water.
If you are having leaf work done this fall, ask us to put the gutters on the second visit. That is one mobilization instead of two, and it lands at the point in the year when a blocked gutter does the most damage. Both visits go on the same written estimate.
What is included
- Hand-cleaning, not blowing. We pull the debris out by hand. Blowing pushes the mat further into the downspout and sprays the rest over your beds and windows.
- Every downspout flushed and checked for flow. This is where the actual blockage lives.
- Debris hauled away. Not bagged and left at your curb. Gone, in our truck.
- Hangers, seams and fascia checked while we are up there. If something is pulling loose or a seam is leaking, you hear about it before it becomes a repair.
- Before and after photos sent to you. You should not have to take our word that a roof you cannot see is clean now.
On your roof, or off it — that depends on your house
How we clean a gutter depends on the roof. If the pitch is shallow enough to walk safely, we work from the roof, because it means we can move along the whole run and pull debris out by hand instead of repositioning a ladder every few feet and hurrying the sections in between. If a roof is steep, wet, or the shingles will not take the traffic, we work from ladders instead. That call gets made when we arrive and look at it, not over the phone.

October is not the end of it
Pine needles start dropping in late September and the oaks keep going into December. A gutter cleared in October on a wooded lot is usually full again by the time the first hard winter rain arrives, which is exactly when a blocked downspout does the most damage — water over the front edge, down the fascia, and into the ground beside the foundation.
Most people call us about gutters twice a year without ever planning it: once when the leaves are down and once when something is already overflowing. The second one is the expensive way round.
If your lot has oaks on it, ask us at the first visit to pencil in a second clear after Thanksgiving. Same crew, quoted at the same time, and it takes the guesswork out of the wettest part of the year.
Questions we get asked
How often should gutters be cleaned in Kennesaw?
Twice a year for most homes; three or four times if pines overhang the roof. Late fall, after the oak and sweetgum finish dropping, is the single most important one.
Do I need to be home?
No. We work outside, and you get photos when we finish.
Do you haul the debris away?
Yes, every time, included. We are a junk removal company as well as a landscaping one, so the truck is already there.
Do you clean gutters on two and three story homes?
Yes. It costs more because it is slower and takes taller equipment, and that is on the quote before we start.
Do you also fix gutters that are pulling away or leaking?
We re-secure loose hangers, and we will tell you honestly when a run needs replacing rather than patching.
Do you offer gutter guards?
We do not install them. Plenty of companies around here do, and if you want them we will happily tell you what we see on the roofs we actually clean: micro-mesh is the only type that reliably keeps pine needles out, and no guard removes the need to check the downspouts. What we do is clean the gutters properly — twice a year under heavy pine.
What is the best time of year?
Late fall is the important one. Early spring, after the pollen, is the second.
